"Small enough to care, big enough to count"
Another year of good results 2014.
A total of 84% of students at Humberston Academy achieved A* to C in GCSE maths this summer. In English, the figure was 71%. 67% of students achieved five or more GCSEs at A* to C, including maths and English, which with these results, confirm our place among the top-performing schools in the area.
We are an outstanding Academy and proud of our exceptionally high standards. But it is not all about academic achievement. We are a growing oversubscribed, hard-working Academy, with a positive, business-like and purposeful atmosphere where students can develop and broaden their horizons.
Humberston also offers:
- Outstanding behaviour
- An ethos of mutual respect and love of learning
- Outstanding teaching and learning
- A small, caring environment
- Every student is treated as individual
- Broadening horizons by being part of the David Ross Educational Trust, which provides the students with exceptional sporting and cultural opportunities.
This year we are proud to be able to demonstrate our continued commitment to improving our students learning environment with the opening of our impressive new facilities which welcomed the students back to school after the summer holidays. The £1.4-million building programme has helped us transform our popular Academy. New classrooms, a performing arts block and a dining hall extension are among the improvements that have been made at Humberston.
The Academy, a member of the David Ross Education Trust, became the first in North East Lincolnshire to be designated “outstanding” last year under Ofsted’s stricter guidelines.
Our focus is on first class teaching and recruiting outstanding practitioners. Quality teachers are the people who inspire our students to great things.
