Grimsby's Humberston Academy named one of the top performing schools in England
Grimsby’s Humberston Academy, part of the David Ross Education Trust, has been ranked in the top 8th percentile of all secondary schools across England, and has been named the top performing secondary school in North East Lincolnshire for the second consecutive year.
The Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ school celebrated another set of incredible GCSE results in Summer 2017. New figures released by the Department for Education yesterday, show that Humberston Academy has once again topped the region’s performance rankings across three key government measures.
Within North East Lincolnshire, Humberston Academy is the only secondary school which has been graded ‘well above average’, with a Progress 8 score of 0.58, an Attainment 8 score of 51.1 and 49 percent of pupils achieving Grade 5 and above in English and Maths.
Dan Shoubridge, Associate Principal at Humberston Academy, said: “We are incredibly proud of our examination results last year, and for Humberston Academy’s performance to be recognised in the top 8th percentile of secondary schools, nationally. This is testament to the positive partnership we create between our students, home and school.
“We have a clear focus on delivering a world-class education for our students, with the support of the David Ross Education Trust. Our oversubscribed status in all year groups demonstrates our popularity within the community and with record numbers of pupils choosing Humberston Academy, we are confident that our success will only continue to grow.”
