National SCITT Hubs

Maths and Physics

If you would like to train as a Maths or Physics teacher, you can do so through the National Maths and Physics SCITT – a route that privileges subject specific training on the ground, with experienced practitioners.

Humberston Academy is the lead school for the Humberside & Lincolnshire hub of the National Maths and Physics SCITT with Professional Studies training days taking at the David Ross Education Trust head office in Loughborough. Applications can be made either on the UCAS website, by searching for National Mathematics and Physics SCITT, Training Provider Code 2H8. To apply to the East Midlands Hub, please select Training Location Code Q.

The PGCE is awarded by University of Buckingham for Maths and Physics trainees qualifying through this route.

We are delighted to be working with The National Mathematics and Physics School Centred Initial Teacher Training programme (NMAPS), a Department of Education (DfE) initiative designed to give Mathematics and Physics trainees the best experience during their Initial Teacher Training. Trainees will be based in schools with bespoke subject specialist training programmes, delivered by outstanding practitioners and in conjunction with national subject associations. On successful completion of the programme, trainees will be awarded both QTS and PGCE. School name will be offering supernumerary training place(s) with NMAPS in Mathematics and/or Physics for which DfE bursaries are available. We would be delighted to receive applications via UCAS or the DfE.

Modern Languages

If you would like to train as a Modern Languages teacher, you can through the National Modern Languages SCITT- a route that privileges subject specific training on the ground, with experienced practitioners.

Humberston Academy is the lead school for the Humber and North Lincolnshire Hub of the National Modern Languages SCITT. Applications can be made either on UCAS website, by searching for The National Modern Languages SCITT, Training Provider Code 2FL. To apply to the Humber and North Lincolnshire Hub, please select Training Location Code M. 

The PGCE is awarded by Sheffield Hallam University for MFL trainees qualifying through this route.
