Grimsby’s Humberston Academy named one of the top performing schools locally and nationally
24 January 2019: Secondary school tables published today by the Department for Education show that Grimsby’s Humberston Academy is one of the top performing schools in North East Lincolnshire, and in the top 18% of schools nationally.
The Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ school is one of the highest performers for its Progress 8 score and the percentage of pupils achieving Grade 5 and above in English and Maths.
Humberston Academy, part of the David Ross Education Trust, celebrated its GCSE results in the summer with outstanding performances across English and Maths, as well as seeing students achieve impressive grades across a host of other subjects.
Dan Shoubridge, Principal at Humberston Academy, said: “Our results are testament to the positive partnerships we create between our students, their parents and our school. We believe in helping our students to be resilient and responsible for their learning, encouraged by our talented teachers and support staff. This is one of the reasons why our reputation in the local community continues to grow, with more students than ever choosing Humberston Academy as their first choice.”
