Humberston students celebrate GCSE success
Year 11 students at Humberston Academy, part of the David Ross Education Trust, have been celebrating after receiving their long-awaited GCSE results today.
Following on from Humberston’s ranking as the top performing secondary school in North East Lincolnshire 2016 and 2017, students across the school are delighted with their achievements.
Dan Shoubridge, Acting Principal at Humberston Academy,said:“It has been another year of incredible results for Humberston Academy, with some outstanding performances across English and Maths as well as an impressive 19 Grade 9’s awarded across nine different subjects.
“Today’s results are testament to the hard work of our students, support from our parents and the dedication of our staff. Everyone involved should be incredibly proud of their accomplishments.”
Head Boy, Mark Toulson, who achieved five Grade 9s, an A* and three grade 8s, said:“Thank you to all the staff at Humberston Academy for their incredible support. I am so happy with my results!”
Eve Wilkinson was also thrilled to receive seven Grade 8s and one A*. She said: “Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me and helped me to work hard during my time at Humberston. The hard work has paid off!”
Other top performers included Olivia Burton andFreya Davies, who both achieved a strong set of GCSE grades.
Olivia Burtonwho achieved one Grade 9, four Grade 8s, an A and seven Grade 7s commented: “Thank you so much to my amazing teachers, who have given me so much encouragement throughout the year. It wasn’t easy, but we did it!”
Head Girl, Freya Davies, who achieved one Grade 9, four Grade 8s, one A* and three Grade 7ssaid: “I honestly cannot thank every single member of staff at Humberston enough. The support you have given me has been incredible.”

“We are delighted to see our students receive their GCSE results today. From here, they can progress into the world of further education, employment and work towards their successful futures with confidence.”
